From Corporate to Community—Why The Small Biz Doctor, LLC Was Born
Hi, I’m Cherrelle King, founder of The Small Biz Doctor, LLC and a certified bookkeeper with over 8 years of experience. My journey began in the administrative office at Lowe’s Home Improvement, where I gained firsthand experience supporting the daily operations of a major retail business. That experience planted the seed for my future.
Years later, I joined Intuit as a QuickBooks Live Bookkeeper, managing the finances of small businesses across the country—from solo startups to growing teams. But even as I helped entrepreneurs nationwide, I couldn’t stop thinking about the business owners in my own hometown of Lake Charles, LA.
I’ve watched too many incredible local businesses shut their doors—not because their products or services weren’t great, but because they didn’t have the financial clarity or support they needed to survive. That lit a fire in me.
In 2021, I founded The Small Biz Doctor, LLC to change that. My mission is simple: to help small business owners—especially in underserved communities—build healthier, more profitable businesses with honest, reliable bookkeeping.
